The Lesbian Gets Her Own Show!

Isn't she just too cute?
Rachel Maddow, our favorite lesbo political pundit finally gets her own tv show on MSNBC. Starting Sept. 8, after Keith Olbermann, we can see Rachel every night. Yay.
On reading a bio this evening, apparently she is the first 'out' Rhodes Scholar.
On April 4, 2008, Maddow was the substitute host for Countdown with Keith Olbermann, her first time hosting a news program on MSNBC. Maddow described herself on air as "nervous," but Keith Olbermann complimented her work and she was brought back to host "Countdown" on May 16, 2008; that day, Countdown was the highest rated news program in the key 25–54 year old demographic. For her success, Olbermann awarded Maddow the 3rd ranking in his regular segment, "World's Best Persons" on the following Monday, calling her "World's Best Pinch-Hitter." Maddow filled in again on Countdown for eight-and-a-half broadcasts in July 2008 (including the latter half of the July 21st show).

Maddow lives in Manhattan and rural western Massachusetts, with her partner of many years, artist Susan Mikula.

I'm happy about her new show and can't wait to see it. I read a nice article about her in The Nation mag.

Regarding Joe Biden, my mistake; he is ok. It is Chuck Schumer who really disappointed me. Did you catch Bill Mahr on Larry King? He said that he is hoping that Hillary gets picked over the others on the list. He said that the campaign needs someone to kick butt and she and Bill can do that. The problem with all the possibles I have heard about is that they are old politics and I still believe Obama is new. With his vp pick he will be showing not only his intention but his mettle.

I absolutely love Rachel Maddow. I hadn't heard of her until about a month ago and I find myself flipping to MSNBC to watch her, Keith Olbermann and Chris Matthews more and more often.
