A Tidbit

Ok, Ok...lots going on.
First, sports.
Poor Cubs. Swept. Double plays...bad.

College football, where to begin? Is there anyone, besides LSU (Geaux Tigers!) that was in the top 10 2 weeks ago that is still there?? Well, yes...LSU is one of just four teams that started the season ranked in the top 10 and remain there. The others are No. 6 Oklahoma, No. 8 West Virginia and No. 10 Southern California, which became the latest team to take a tumble after a startling loss to an unranked opponent(Stanford). The Biggest.Upset.Ever. in college football. (Until next week?) Stanford, by the way, was the last team to defeat USC at home. Texas has managed to stay in the top 25, despite 2 consecutive losses.

As for the Texans. Yay Kris Brown!! Not much else to say about that, just yay Kris Brown.

Politics, this will be short, more to follow.
IOWA
Although Hillary is the clear front-runner in national surveys, Iowa has remained an elusive prize. She has been in a tight race with John Edwards and Barack Obama in the state that begins the primary campaign voting in three months. She has 29 percent of voters' support in the latest poll of respondents — up from third place in May — while Edwards and Obama are in a statistical tie 23 percent to 22 percent respectively. The Des Moines Register poll of 399 respondents has a margin of error of 4.9 percentage points.
This is great news, as she has been behind in Iowa. The talk is that if she wins in Iowa, then she is the nominee. Wow. That would be so amazing. Go Go Hillary! Then New Hampshire, where I believe she leads in the polls.

Something to look for this week. The Noble Peace Prize will be announced on Friday, Oct. 12th. Hopefully, Al Gore will win that prize. Then, what will he do? There seems to be some talk that he might enter the presidential race. But it seems too late to me. A few months ago, I was all about Gore entering the race. Now, I don't know how I feel.

Go Red Sox!
